It's totally fiction, I swear

Summary of a meeting I sat through at work today:
Presenter: "Hi everyone, I'd like your feedback and suggestions on this new tool we're developing."
Me: "Ok. Well, that particular field doesn't make much sense to me. Can we reword it to be clearer?"
Presenter: "Nope, sorry, we don't have time to make changes to this new tool."
Someone Else: "You know, that section there will take a lot of work on our part to complete. Could we do it this way instead to save us a bunch of time?"
Presenter: "Nope, sorry, that's too complicated to implement. We don't have the time."
Presenter: "Well, thanks everyone for your input, I greatly appreciate it."
This gives me the perfect opportunity to introduce my 2.7 readers (hey, the number's growing at least) to my Slogan for Life: Whatever... Oh well.

(Someday I'm gonna get a tee-shirt made of that. It will say "Whatever." on the front and "Oh well." on the back.)

  1. haha, yeah I feel that way all the time. I look at some code that a co-worker has written and it is complete crap. Poor interfaces for my code(my main concern) and resource wasteful. I mention this to the co-worker and I get a big oh well, or it isn't that bad.

If we had had some decent design in the beginning it would have helped. I need to get out of here, or become a manager...
